Jeanette (Richard) Benoit

Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Jeanette Benoit, 79, the former Jeanette Marie Richard. Mrs. Benoit, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 3:45 P.M. Monday, June 4 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Church Point. Survivors include four sons, Michael Benoit and wife Toni of Lafayette, La.; Thad Benoit and friend Carlis Doucet, Cade Benoit and wife Celinna and John Benoit-all of Church Point; three daughters, Debra Reed and husband David of Rayne, La. and Marla François and husband Carl and Tara Nice and husband Bill-all of Lafayette; three sisters, Betty Joe Doucet of Church Point, Sylvia Prejean of Lawtell, La. and Sandra Fontenot of Eunice, La.; her grandchildren: Amanda R. Kibodeaux, Alyssa R. Fontenot, Jeremy, Allison, Jordan, Jacob, Lillia, Blake, Sarah and Paul Benoit, Jenee A. Brune, Andrea and Danielle François, Simone B. Daigle, Katie B. Prejean and Cameron Nice; her great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Luke Kibodeaux, Audrey, Meredith and Jack Fontenot, Noah Emile Benoit, Ramey and Addison Brune, Conner S. Francois Crowley, Madysin, Cole and Leigh Daigle, Hadyn Meche and “Baby Girl” Prejean. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Benoit; her parents, Darbis and Lillia (Comeaux) Richard; two sisters, Joycelyn Goudeaux and Bobbie Lavergne and a brother, Ray Richard. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 5 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Jacob, Jordan and Jeremy Benoit, David Reed, Carl Francois, Bill Nice, Richard Lavergne and Robert Richard. Mrs. Benoit truly loved her family and loved to cook and dance.
